I've kind of abandoned the idea of the mass produced modular home. It's giving me too many constraints where I would rather develop other ideas of the project.

I am still going to develop the idea of creating a space that can be folded/moved/stacked etc. like a puzzle to form a variety of spaces. No matter how the space will be designed, one of the main goals is that the home can be squeezed/compacted or taken apart to smaller pieces so that it can be easily transported to its next location. I also like the idea that one of the simplest variations this home can be is a cube or rectangle. At first I was hesitant to even think of using this as a potential form. However, when thinking of fitting a home within the urban or even suburban setting, nothing quite fits into these areas better than a 90 degree angle.

What I am also exploring is the use of a knots or tangling of material to develop space. I think the idea of this happening for the interior space, while the exterior form may still be a simple shape (perhaps still a cube? depending on the way it is "folded").

examples soon....
